Odunlade Adekola hailed from Abeokuta, Ogun state, Nigeria in 1977 where he attended both primary and secondary education at saint John RCM primary school and saint Peter’s college as he grew up. He later obtained a degree in business administration in UNILAG. He is married to Ruth and father of four children. He is also currently a Glo (a brand in Nigeria) ambassador.
He began his movie career at his tender age. According to research, he was part of the drama group in The Christ Apostolic Church situated at Lafenwa Abeokuta. As he sought to see the footlights he single-handedly wrote a script of comedy featuring him and one other actor. He caught the attention of the renowned Nollyhood Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
Having been inspired by many of his predecessors, Odunlade became a star that always keeps audience on their seats whenever he stars in a movie. His excellent display has won him City People Movie Award for Best Actor of 2014 and 2015, 2014 best Popular Online Choice (Male), City People Movie Award forYoruba Movie 2017, Nigeria Entertainment Award For Best Actor 2015 and many more.
The actor’s major challenge could be that of role switching or casting against the type. Kola best is usually seen when he plays a funny role, street king and aggressive helpless individual but if saddled with other role, he may find it challenging.
Kola has performed so well and for this his future achievement can’t be underrated.
